Scottish Assessors Portal Goes Live

Connect Provides Web Portal For Scottish Ratepayers

23 August 2004

SAAThe Scottish Assessors’ Association, whose members are responsible for property valuation for rates and council tax purposes across the whole of Scotland, has had a soft launch of its new website.

Developed by Connect, the website is a dedicated portal that will provide the public with a single point of access to online information on council tax banding, rateable values and electoral registration.

“The site has been given a soft launch with the aim of allowing members of the public and the property profession to use the site and recommend refinements,” comments Ken Scott, Senior Responsible Officer for Scottish Assessors’ Portal.

“We are delighted with the positive response to the portal. The site has received widespread praise, which serves to highlight Connect’s technical expertise and design know-how. We are very impressed with Connect’s professionalism, flexibility and attention to detail. For the first time the public can access one site for information on property from Lerwick to Berwick.”

Carole Boardman, Public Sector Director at Connect Internet Solutions Limited, explains; ”We are absolutely thrilled to be working with the Scottish Assessors Association. We have worked in partnership to develop a portal that provides easy access to information for citizens, business, property professionals and government. This project serves to demonstrate Connect’s capabilities in delivering a national large scale portal solution.”
